Legal process outsourcing (LPO) is a practice that involves a law firm or an organization acquiring legal support services from an external party, either from another law firm or a legal support services company.A subset of outsourcing, LPO helps companies transfer legal work such as document review, legal research and drafting, contract management, and legal transcription to external resources located domestically or overseas.If done domestically, LPO may include various agency roles and other activities that require a physical presence.If done as offshoring, the practice may involve any functions, except the services which require a personal presence or contact, such as court appearances and face-to-face negotiations.
