/klaʊd kəmˈpjuːtɪŋ/
Cloud computing is a type of service where various IT resources are supplied over the internet for scalability, flexibility, and cost efficiency. Normally, users only pay for those services that they use to save on the operational costs and adapt the resources to changing business needs.
It has three main types: Infrastructure as a Service, which delivers raw computational resources; Platform as a Service, which offers tools and software for application development without the maintenance of the underlying infrastructure; and Software as a Service, which delivers software applications on a subscription basis.
These services can be delivered via public, private, or hybrid clouds; each of them gives different levels of security, control, and management to meet specific organizational needs.
