Operations management consists of three major functions: planning, organizing, and supervising. The desired outcome is to efficiently transform materials and labor into goods and services to reach an organization's highest possible profit.

Through this practice, operations managers utilize human resources, equipment, and technology to develop and deliver high-quality goods and services for their customers.
