Smallsourcing

smɔ:l ˈsɔhrs.iŋ / Smallsourcing

Definition

Smallsourcing is a practice where an individual or a business hires an external party to perform work for a specific project.

This type of outsourcing allows businesses to work with a contractor for a lower cost than hiring a full-time employee. In this short-term setup, they get an opportunity to work with individuals whose skills they lack internally.

Freelancing sites such as UpWork and Fiverr are the most well-known ways to meet smallsourced workers. The contractors found in these sites offer various skills, which businesses can avail on a per-project basis.
